EYES Representative Receives $500 Duane Walters Memorial Scholarship

Tawas City Planning Commission Chair Mary Doak, right and Commissioner Tracy Stevelinck, right, are pictured with the group’s youth representative, Colleen Kubisiak. A 2021-2022 senior at Tawas Area High School, Kubisiak is the third local student to have served on the commission as the Empowering Youth with Engagement Strategies representative. For her efforts this past year, Stevelinck presented Kubisiak with a $500 Duane Walters Memorial Scholarship toward her continued education. Kubisiak shared she plans to study pre physical therapy at St. Clair Community College, where she signed to play soccer.
