Public Hearing Notice

The Tawas City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 4:00 pm at Tawas City Hall, 550 West Lake Street, Tawas City, MI 48763. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments on a proposed conditional rezoning request. The request is conditional rezoning from the R-1 Single -Family Residential District to the B-2 Community Business District for the following parcels:

•  Parcels 132-O11-022-004-00 and 132-O11-022-005-00, described as the Map of Tawas City of Tawas City, Block 22, Lots 4, 5, and 6, commonly known as 429 Mathews Street.
•  The conditional rezoning to B-2 will allow the use of only a performing arts studio on these parcels.

Comments may be made in person at Tawas City Hall at 550 West Lake Street, Tawas City, in writing to the Tawas City Planning Commission, PO Box 568, Tawas City, MI 48764, or emailed to the Clerk/Treasurer at [email protected] by 4:00 pm on April 10, 2025. A copy of the proposal is available for public review at City Hall or on the City’s website at tawascity.org.  Individuals with disabilities who may require auxiliary aids or services should contact the City offices at least seventy-two (72) hours before the time of the hearing.
