Water Main Break

water main break words on news channel

A utility company working in the area bored through an 8-inch water main new the intersection of West Lake Street (US-23) and Ninth Avenue in Tawas City.  As a result, residents and businesses south of the bridge at Gateway Park are currently without water service.

Members of the Tawas City Department of Public Works are making arrangements to repair the line and will work to restore service as quickly as possible.

At this time, there is NOT a boil water order in effect and we do not have an estimated restoration time.  Please continue to monitor our website, Facebook, and local news stations for updates as more information becomes available.

Please use caution when driving through the area while repair crews are on site.  We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.
