Zoning Administrators are responsible for the review and enforcement of land use and zoning policies within the City. They play a key role in guiding responsible development and ensuring that proposed projects comply with the City’s zoning ordinances and long-term planning goals.
Duties of the Zoning Administrator include reviewing applications for rezoning, changes of use, and new construction. The Zoning Administrator also evaluates site plans and development proposals to ensure compliance with applicable ordinances and regulations.
As part of the review process, the Zoning Administrator conducts or participates in public hearings with applicants, provides guidance to developers on how to bring proposals into compliance, and issues zoning violation notices when necessary, including warnings and enforcement actions.
In addition, the Zoning Administrator advises the Planning Commission and other City officials on zoning ordinance updates, land use policy, and long-range planning initiatives that support orderly growth and community development.
