Public Notice – Request for Bids

The City of Tawas City is soliciting bid proposals for a contractor to perform work on resurfacing streets at various locations within the City of Tawas City.  The work is to include crushing 13,515 square yards of existing asphalt surface and resurfacing with 1859 tons of hot mix asphalt (HMA) at 2.5” and one (1) foot of aggregate (188 tons) along the shoulders.  Bid will be accepted until 2 pm., Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the office of the City Clerk, Tawas City Hall, 550 West Lake (US 23), Tawas City, MI 48763, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.  The award will follow after review and deliberations by the City.  Bids are to be submitted in a sealed envelope marked as, “Tawas City Street Resurfacing Project”.  Bid documents will be available for non-refundable $25 per project set with an additional non-refundable $10 if the documents are mailed, beginning April 25, 2024 from Tawas City Hall, 550 West Lake Street, PO Box 568, Tawas City, MI, 48764, phone (989) 362-8688.  The City of Tawas City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The project is intended to start on or about August 16, 2024 and must be completed on or before November 15, 2024.
